Why a drawer?
Every house has one. It's the kitchen drawer that won't close all the way, full of stuff Dad reached for once and figured he'd need again. It's the most honest thing in the house: what he actually uses, not what he says he wants.
So instead of another tie he'll wear once, Hank picks gifts that end up in the drawer and then in Dad's hand, over and over. Grill gear, garage gear, tackle-box gear, good-glass gear, and a few things that'll just make him laugh.
